I wrote this song from the perspective of someone who was deconstructing from their Christian faith. While I don't personally encourage deconstruction for the purpose of ultimately deconverting or changing your faith to the point where it no longer resembles orthodoxy, I do believe there are many Christians who have questions and doubts and want to make sure that they really believe what they believe. I believe that the church should be open to these doubts and questions and not shame anyone who has them. The church should be understanding and equipped to deal with those doubts and questions.
